Strategic Service Review
Our multi agency Primary Care NHS Trust, Acute NHS Trust and Unitary Authority clients requested a strategic review of their county wide Community Equipment Service, Telecare Service, Independent Living Centre and Minor Adaptation Service. Specific recommendations were to be made with regard to the Department of Health Care Services Efficiency Delivery Team’s ‘Transforming Community Equipment Services’ (TCES) programme to ensure that the clients’ strategy planning was in line with national initiatives.
The Process
Veritas’ experienced Community Equipment Service specialists worked with the services ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their work streams and operations. Key documentation was studied and researched enabling a detailed insight into their procedures, policies, financial performance, strategy, strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities.
Our team shared its experience of similar services and highlighted areas of concern for consideration in a discreet manner.
Extensive stakeholder consultation was undertaken with a cross mix of service users, carers, nursing and Allied Health Professionals and Service Managers ensuring consistent opinions on current service provision and future planning were realised.
Outcome
A comprehensive review document was compiled for our clients’ detailing background information on all the services, financial analysis and recommendations, risk analysis, options appraisal and recommendations. The executive summary was presented to a joint senior management board by the Veritas team and the report content utilised for service planning and strategy.
