Bariatric Manual Handling

Statistically obesity is on the increase in the UK and the manual handling of these patients presents specific challenges.  The sheer weight of extremely large individuals can pose a significant risk, both to the patients themselves and to those who perform their health care services.  For example, lifting or repositioing an obese patient dramatically increases the normal risks encountered by nurses or other care givers.  Highlighting that extensive training is required in order to safely move individuals who are morbidly obese.

It is with this in mind, Veritas are pleased to be able to take a proactive approach to the increase in demand for fully trained and competent staff by being able to offer specifically designed and tailored training courses/packages to healthcare professionals.  All practical demonstrations are undertaken with the assistance of a live bariatric model.
