The NHS in 2015
With an election less than 100 days away, it will be interesting to see how the healthcare sector fares. With a barrage of news reports over the New Year concerning the crisis in hospitals and A&E departments, health and social care remains a critical element of the debate. Certainly there are discussions about how the sector can join up its approach to make the best use of budgets. This is welcome news – joint commissioning is positive and will enable more integrated services with pooled budgets which can only benefit the public. Removing barriers by commissioning services jointly enables real partnership working, providing the public with services that benefit from the expertise and experience of Commissioners from both the NHS and Local Government organisations. Veritas will continue to push for an environment where joint commissioning and integration is the norm, in order to provide truly world class commissioning of public services.
