Wheelchair services – a personalised service
With an estimated 1.2 million wheelchair users in the UK as well as continuous developments in design and technology, there is no doubt that the demand for wheelchair services is greater than ever before.
Considering the high levels of demand, user-centric wheelchair services understand the importance and complexity of each client’s case in order to deliver a bespoke service. They understand how personal each wheelchair is to its user and recognise the health implications that could be caused to the patient, as a result of the wrong chair.
A poorly configured wheelchair can lead to:
- Pressure sores
- Back pain
- Skeletal issues
- Referred pain
At Veritas, we believe in delivering wheelchair services that are user-centric. We understand the importance of a personal service that considers the needs of the user consistently, by adapting the service to each patient. From initial chair supply to repair or replacement, we ensure the delivery of a fast and efficient wheelchair service.
Once guiding principles have been established, we will consider how to configure the service to suit you best.
We appreciate that there could be limitations both in resource and cost, but believe that the delivery of a poor wheelchair service could cause significant health repercussions down the line.
The My Voice, My Wheelchair, My Life campaign, championed by Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, seeks to highlight and address the issues with UK wheelchair services. We wholeheartedly support the push for better, faster and a more considered delivery of wheelchair services.
